Forced Military Testing in America's Schools True or false?

In fact, ASVAB test results are the only student information that leaves U.S. schools without the opportunity provided for parental consent. A. The DOD actually considers the public school system as the first phase of military training. I found a 2005 DOD primer on military training and education in my college library back in 2008 that outlined the connection between the Department of Education and the Department of Defense. It's not really that big of a deal; public schools just give make sure students have skills the DOD wants in personnel, like reading, writing, and arithmetic. That way the DOD doesn't have to spend time teaching soldiers how to read. It's not like you've got Drill Sergeants for hall monitors or DOD trained teachers. The DOD and DOE just work together. I mean, come on. Did you think the departments of government don't work together? It's public record, if you… [cont.]

have you heard of or had an unassisted home birth?
Q. I am educating myself on unassisted home births. i am strongly considering one the third time around so now that we are ttc i want to start getting as much info as possible. i have contacted a midwife and received information on their services but i would like to know more on unassisted home births, what are your views on it? have you done it? I know so much on child birth already and am planning on taking another CPR class and i am a nursing student. i would like to hear your opinions. thank you.

A. I know two people who did ASSISTED, but not unassisted. The first thing I would consider is, do you live close to a hospital (w/ in 5 min)? If not, I wouldn't even consider it. With it being your 3rd, you will probably have a fairly quick delivery and hopefully totally normal, but remember, something can ALWAYS go wrong - baby is turned, umbilical cord wraps around the baby's neck, etc - and you need to leave the option open to be able to go to the hospital stat if you need to. Also, I think assisted would be better just b/c a midwife would know if something is wrong - would you? As for the two people I know who did assisted home birth- they highly recommended it.

Thinking of dropping out of college?
Q. I recently started college after getting 9 good, solid GCSEs. However, I'm starting to think that I might have made a mistake. Originally I was down for 5 courses, which wasn't what I wanted at all, so I went and dropped two of them. A week later the college phoned saying my attendance was bad, and that I'd been missing two subjects - the two I'd supposedly dropped. I'm still in the process of getting the subjects sorted out, but now I'm starting to wonder whether it's all worth it - I've constantly been given incorrect information by Student Services and the teachers, and it's really starting to get to me. In addition to the ''teething problems'' as it were, I'm also having to do 13 hour days for four out of the five days - I have to be… [cont.]

A. If you're not liking college there is a strong possibility you'll fail or, at best, turn out mediocre. If you've got the balls go for starting your own business. The compromise position between the above, it seems to me, is that of an apprenticeship: here you'll be learning 'on the job' and, if you have talent, the company will pay for you to go to college and/or university. In this way you'll beat any 'fast-track' undergraduate because you'll have on-the-job experience. Good luck!

Q. I need some help! My son wants to go to college and were trying to find a student loan. I don't have the best of credit...does anyone know a loan service online that would be able to approve people that don't have the best credit? Thank you...any help would be great!

A. Your son can get a federal student loan with no cosigner and no credit check. He needs to apply at This is a good publication about the different types of student loans. Perkins and Subsidized Stafford loans are the best with the best interest rates. Don't do private student loans they have high interest rates, higher destination fees, and some are eligible to be forgiven for certain situations.

Oversight over mandatory community service?
Q. I am considering to take a year in the United States as exchange student. I have a number of cities to choose among. However I have a problem. Can I get some kind of oversight over if the school districts demand mandatory community service. In Denmark community service is a punishment used by the courts. I am one of the people who support the Danish system regardless of the fact that I have paid taxes since I was 15 because I earned too much on my part time job. Mandatory community service in high school to meet the requirements of graduation is an idea that's been promoted by both Republicans and Democrats long before Obama. HELP! College student STUCK between information systems and small business/ entrepreneurship?
Q. So I just recently decided to change my major to business, I realized electrical engineering wasn't what I wanted to do. What I want to do: create my own business that advises companies (small or large) on the newest technology, present their options based on a budget; and services beyond that which have not come to me yet. I have a passion for technology and I WILL find a way to monetize that passion so I never really have to have a J.O.B. Now I grabbed a pamphlet in his office about information systems. It does sound like what I would like to do, but in the other sense, I would like to focus on the track of small business/ entrepreneurship. You can only do one of the two in the business program at my school. I am pretty set on staying… [cont.]

A. If you want to start a business that specializes in Information Systems, then you really need to study Information Systems. Hopefully you can find a few courses or a minor in Business - but without the professional education in Info Systems, you will have absolutely no credibility in your business. Its like if I wanted to start a restaurant. People wouldnt ask me what business school I went to, they would ask which culinary/cooking school I went to. If you are sure that what you want to do is as you've described - than concentrate on the specialized education in the field you need to learn - and than focus on how to turn it into a business later. I can show you how to start a business really cheap also. My site:

A. This form is for your information and is used in taking either the Hope Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit when you do your taxes. If you are a freshman or sophomore, you take the Hope Credit. After those two years you take the Lifetime Learning Credit. Use Form 8863 to take the credit and you will have to use the 1040A or 1040 Form when you file.

Information On The Used Video Game Industry. Student Research.?
Q. I am currently a Student at The University of Texas and I am doing a marketing and advertising project for one of my classes. I am wondering what it is that consumers shopping for used games care about the most? What do you look for when searching for used games? What are your favorite features when it comes to customer satisfaction? What is the most appealing thing to you about the used game market? What would you like to see be done differently in the used game industry? What is your opinion on the current companies involved in the used game industry? What do you not like about them? What frustrates you the most when you are trying to buy or sell used games? What would attract you to one competitor over the other? Do you prefer a cookie-c [cont.]
